Hey Guys, My daughters 2000 Mustang was rear ended at 4:30 today, the car turns over now but will not stay started. Is there any safety cut-off near the gas tank? I was in the car with her, we got hit by a truck really hard.
Yes Im pretty sure there is fuel cut off switch located someplace. Its made for If you get in an accident, the fuel wont pump. Look in your owners manual for the reset switch.
Thanks, just got back from the hospital.
The owners manual is in the car, and the car is in a parking lot near the accident. I'll check in the morning.
Not sure if it's different, but mine is in the trunk on the left side next to the taillight. Just remove the carpet lining. There's a plastic screw type thing holding it in place.

Yea they should all be in the same place on the mark 8s, tbirds and stangs in the left corner behind the carpeting. Just have to pull that carpet/plastic back to get to it.
Thanks for all the help. I drove out to the car last night, and found the reset button. She started right up after I pressed it. Got it home before the snow started.
After accident, bucket seats are bent backwards???
Thanks again for your help with this Mustang. The first thing I noticed after the accident was that both front seats were bent towards the rear seat. They do not go to the full verticle position any more. I haven't taken it to a shop yet, but when I explained it to one shop over the phone, they acted like they had never heard of such a thing. I can't be the first person with this issue. Anyone have any experience? I'm not sure how they will fix the seats. Are buckets still made for our model year?
