Default clutch problem.

ok so i got a manual mustang a couple of days ago. all black 98 GT. so i realized that the clutch grabs near the top. not right at the end but very close to it. how do i make it grab lower? its a stage 2 clutch and no aftermarket adjusters.

Try lifting up on the clutch pedal (pulling it towards you). You have a self adjusting quadrant, doubt it will do anything though considering it's releasing at the top.

There's really not much you can do other than install an adjustable quadrant, firewall adjuster, or adjustable cable.

Ok so there is about and inch of play when I pull towards me. Does that mean it needs to be adjusted or is it gone. I want it to grab near the floor not near the top.

You cannot control "where" it grabs other than within a narrow range, none of which is very "near the floor"--not that one would want it there anyway...

There should be 1" to 1-1/4" of free play in the pedal--here's a good write-up on how to use the semi-automatics adjuster, and how to over ride it to make the feel a bit better.
