help! rattle/vibration is driving me crazy!
I don't know if this is a common problem or not, but if anyone has any input I would appreciate it. My 2002 Mustang GT has a vibration that is very annoying that occurs when the engine is lugging/under light acceleration under about 2000 rpm, in any gear (not really noticeable in first or fifth). Sometimes it sounds like it's coming from the shifter area, other times it sounds like the dash or glove box, but it always sounds the same, a rapid metal on metal vibrating sound, loud enough to be annoying if the radio is down low. The car does have 140K miles, so I guess it's not surprising something is loose, but I am worried that it might be a transmission problem instead of just a loose fastener somewhere - any thoughts about that? Am I going to have to tighten every screw and bolt I can find, or does this sound familiar to anyone??? thanks in advance!

i had the same problem maybe not but worth a try telling you. does it sound like loud buzzing. if so while you are accelerating hold the little button on your e-brake so it wont move around. that was happening on mine under low rpm acceleration it would buzz. that was my problem and it was quite annoying. see if that is the problem.
