Default GT DYNO Results

Today in knoxville,tn LMS motorsports had dyno day. I thought nothing of it and got up and went. Little did i know these dudes were for real! They tune Ferrari's and Porsche's ( there was a Ferrari 355 challenger sitting right beside me!). After about 3 million corvettes and camaros, It was fords turn. A guy in a foxbody put down 244hp which wasnt bad at all. 2 04 wipple cobras took the hotseat and laid down 580hp 535TQ. The other one had too much timing and f'd up. Finally it was my turn, and i really surprised myself. Check it out. Keep in mind this was a Mustang Dyno.

Trade those shorties with long tubes and get some heads/cams. Then you'll really be putting the numbers down. But not too bad for the mods you have. Was it a hot day?

heat shouldnt matter too much since the dynamometer takes heat/humidity into consideration when it puts out numbers.

each dyno you go to will read alittle diffrent. tire pressure can throw them off also he has gears which throw the 1-1 ratio off so that will show alittle lower hp numbers

Im still baffled as to why gears give you a lower HP read out? Can anyone explain it?

More loss through extra gear-tooth contact.

This guy who ran the shop has a Phd in engineering. He's been working on Ferrari's for years and has owned a dynojet and a mustang dyno. He says 7-8% difference depending on the car. If u take 7% of 238.6 thats 19.xxx. 238+19=257. Which is right where i need to be. Dont see what ur arguement is. your car should not have gotten those high of #'s not the other way around.
