mechanic told me $225 for 3.73 gears in my 2000 gt and $250 for the installation...sound right?

Cost me 300 for the install on mine. I'm sure it depends where you live. I'm right outside Chicago and cost is kinda high around here. I got my FRPP 3.73 on sale for like 139.00 though.

The cheapest place ive seen to buy gears is www.gefracing.com Im getting FRPP 4.10`S from them for 180.00.

I would get them from ford racing, the price for the gears is a bit high. The installation price is about right though, maybe even a tad low.

Got my 4.10s for $200 FRPP. HP said its about $500 to install them cause i need the bushing kit OUCH!!!

i told the mechanic to go ahead and order the gears, getting them put in on tues., he said if i bring my own gears he would charge me 2.75 for installation. six of one half dozen of the other i guess...

when you put in different gears, your speeda will not be accurate, and neither will your odometer.
