1996 gt mustang ignition switch questions
hi everyone
new member here with a 96 gt convertible. quick history I had this car since 2002. it's been mildly upgraded it's a nice driver. the car is kinda uncommon I've been told. the car is yellow now, but originally it was 1 of 35 purple gt convertibles with cloth interior that year which I have the paperwork for. maybe some day i will redo it.
the problem I am having is the key/ignition switch. basically I can turn the switch without the key in it to accessory.
so I purchased 2 blank chip keys had them cut and I programed them. I purchased a new aftermarket ignition switch with 2 non pats key and just taped the programed chip key on the new non pats 1 key. I am still getting a flash theft? is there any easier fix other than going to ford?

I'm confused as to what you taped onto what? maybe im just not reading it right, but I wouldn't think there should be any taping involved. Get a tuner and just have them remove the pats. Did the new ignition switch solve you problem about turning it to acc. without the key?
