will a 460ci motor fit in a 2001 gt? who would have a kit? i got the car cheap without a motor and have a 460ci motor on my shop floor. thanks for any help..

A 460? What are you talking about? The mach 460 sound system? Or a 4.6L engine?

You could make it work if you are a experienced mechanic and know what your doing. Im sure the 460 is carbed, and the 01 gt wiring system is made for a Fuel injected engine, which im sure you know.

If the transmision bolts up it will be less of a pain, but either way this would be a huge/complicated swap.

You could find an 99-04 gt motor new or used inbetween $1200-$3000 and it will bolt right up and would be way easier to make work.

lol. I thought he might have been talking about a 460 ci engine but I wasn't too sure. And the only thing that popped up in my head that was 460 on those models was the mach system. [:@] Who makes the 460, I never heard of it. The closest I know is the chevy 454. Hmmm, I'm out of ideas on this one. So I better shut up before I say something else stupid [:@]

460 is actually a ford engine. Beats me what ford put one in, maybe a big truck? who knows.

460's came in the 70 and 80 model F350's. I knew a guy that had one in an old F350 and it was a huge engine but severly inefficient. You would do much better with a 5.4L in the stang than the 460ci.
