Question Transmission decisions, whats best for me?

So I have a 96 cobra as we know. Looking to invest into a transmission in the future. I checked out modern driveline and seem mostly draw to the t-56 magnum. Seems like alot of work involved with a trans swap. Not phyically per say, but new bellhousing, shorten driveshaft, or replace for a tko 600, relocating cross member, etc etc etc. So what are you guys using, or looking to buy. Thanks for the help guys.

Might take some time for you to get some good answers, most of the guys making serious power don't check the forums everyday (or so it seems).

From what I've seen (while knowing nothing first hand) a lot of guys either build their T45/TR3650 or get a built auto.

It's gonna take some patience, looks like you've got quite a build there.

Good luck.

check out Keisler they are building T45's that can take some abuse. Don't listen to all the internet mumbo jumbo about the T45 being junk. Once they get rebuilt wit hbetter syncros they are a great tran. and you dont have to fuss with swap scenarios

Tko dont like going into gear and it costs alot of mineyto make em go ito gear, personally a 6 speed is cool but once again overpriced, cant go wrong with a built 3650 or t45 built.

so building my t45 should hold 5/600lbs of tq? this isn't an immediate concern, but ending goal I hope to be throwing down some nasty numbers, and only looking to do the trans once, as far as purchase and/or replace. if so... who are you guys recommending to rebuild this, or where can I find the parts to do it locally?

My opinion would be like Uber said.
A built up T45..Not really sure on the TKO's really mixed reviews.

Some like, some dont Ive read.
Was looking into one for the old POS 4+3 Corvette I use to own.
Ended up ditching that POS and buying my first Mustang GT (99)
