FUEL LEAK...!
okay wow this happened today for the 1st time a freaked me the hell out...I have a 99 cobra, and I usually fill it up as much as it will go...well today I did that and once it was done I noticed there was gas dripping rather fast from the tank, I examined it as close as I could and it seemed to be at the top of the line where it goes into the tank, of couse I couldent get to it nor do I know what the hell i'm doing anyways, but it leaked about as much as a 12oz soda or so, then it seemed to stop, my friend said I just filled it up to much but I've done that before and there wasent gas leaking...what's going on here guys, should I take it in?

RE: FUEL LEAK...!
When the pump stops filling, you shouldnt squeese in much more. You need room for air. There is a vapor tube. If you overfill your tank, it will leak out like you said. Seems like youve been lucky so far. Really no need to top it to the max. Can cause a problem. Dont think you need to take it in, you should be fine.

you prob over fulled it and the gas ran form the filler area and down the filler tube to the tank and then off the tank and dripped onto the ground, sux that gas evaporats quikley so its hard to find where a small leak is coming from, if it happens again i would 100% have someone look at it.

RE: FUEL LEAK...!
The same thing happened to someone last week. Sounds like the seal between the filler neck and the tank is leaking. I lowered my tank a few times when I put my new fuel pump in but I left the filler neck connected and just lowered the tank on an angle but I read in the manual that if it's ever removed completely that seal should be replaced. If mine was leaking in that way I would take a hard look at that seal. You should be able to get a good look at it through the trunk if you take the molding out and unbolt that rubber cover although I have never unbolted mine so don't hold me to that, or just call the shop to ask them what they think. Sounds like this is a fairly common problem.
