cobra all the way, i could never drive a chevy.

 

I dont hate Chevy at all. I was gonna buy a Vette before I got the GT. But bang for the buck isnt going to get any better than the Cobra... EVER! Name one other domestic car in production which the stock internals will handle 600+ HP without the owner biting his finger nails every time he is on it. It would take a lot of money to properly ensure a blown LS1 will stay together. You get that security stock from Fords '03/'04 SVT Cobra. So thats probably the best start.

Now, you are talking about road racing, correct? LS1's are suppose to be very dependable cars on nitrous and make good power with it, but the problem there is that nitrous isnt the best choice for road racing because it has to be used in moderation or you will run out. A blower will provide you the power you need throughout the entire race. But again... it is really expensive to charge a stock LS1 and not have to worry about it. Just some words of wisdom.

 

I would definitely go with a c5 z06, much better handling than a cobra, and i think its a little faster.
If I were you, ide get a used 05 C6, it handles better, looks so much nicer, and its a totally different car.
You will have a better change of getting laid in that j/p

 

A pullied Cobra will walk a C5 Z06. Ive seen it before. The Cobra had just a 2.80 pully and a Predator tune.

 

The only thing I dont like that the Z06 has such a small rear windshield. I think it really kinda screws up the lines. Does that annoy anyone else?
The coupe flows alot more, but the coupe is 15% less ridgid and 100lbs. heaver. I would love to get the 06 Z06 but I dont have $80,000. Even after alot of weight reduction I dont think the cobra will ever be 50/50 weight distribution. its 56/44 stock. with tubular k-memeber and a-arms, and move the battery in the trunk and carbon fiber hood. Mabye it will be 53/47.

I test drove an 01 C5 coupe and the interior is nice, Its set up perfectly. The steering wheel is perpendicular to me, the shifter is close and im positioned low in the car. When I went back into my car, it felt like ****, my steering wheel is angled foward so my finger fips touch the top of the wheel while my forearm touchs the bottom of the wheel and the seats to high and the shifters to far away.. Mustangs just arent sports cars. But the cobra has sooooo much potential. That motor is so strong. It it looks so aggressive.

 

I think the vette feels more sporty than a mustang. Its the way your sitting and how the shifter is positioned. I fell like im more in control in a vette.

 

See the Z06 on the top the roof lines dont flow as well as the coupe bellow.. Does that annoy anyone else?

Yes I am talking about road racing... I know the cobra forged internals. But I can build a chevy motor with all forged internals with the aluminum block or use an iron block and push over 1000hp. There are many people who put 427 small blocks in a C5. A Z06 with heads, cam, full exhaust and tune will make around 450 rwhp.pretty good for a car weighing 3100lbs...... thats 6.8lbs/per hp. A cobra would need 539rwhp to match that power to weight ratio. A cobras 3666lbs. a pig!~

 

I'd go Cobra or the C5 i like the way it looks over the Z06.
