If its a 2002 then no matter what it will look green unless you remove the film from behind the gauges. This will rewuire you to go a little further into the gauge cluster than just changing the bulbs as indicated in that write up. Not a big deal, just be prepared for it.

FYI these are the bulbs that fit 2002 -04 instrument clusters:http://www.superbrightleds.com/vehic...mustang/20/758 (Instument-General 37 base.)

The WLEDx5 are too big. At least in my experience. Ford changed them mid year 01.

If they changed mid-year, how can I tell which "version" I've got with my 2001??

Take the cluster apart and look through the back side of the gauge.

Or more simply look at your water pump pulley. IF its concave its newer style (short shaft) You can look at the build date and see if it was built in late 2000-early 01 as well.

Do it this way, much much simpler.

Wouldn't it just be cheaper to buy the overlay from American Muscle? Then you get white faced gauges plus an LED glow.

I personally think those are very cheap looking. I'm not really a fan to be honest.

Is that not because the cobra cluster has white faced gauges?
