Default Went carb'd and now alternator won't charge

I switched my 02 to carbureted and removed computer and cluster. I know the alternator is an internal regulator and needs power to switch on. The green/red wire coming off the alt needs to have power to switch on. I put a resistor between the green/red wire and the pink/black wire in the dash behind the cluster to mimic the battery light. This should allow the regulator to switch on but it is not. How can I wire this correctly to switch on and power my fuel pump ignition and fan?!?!

Here's the wiring diagram, and Diagnosis and Testing document, both from the shop manual.

What value resistor did you use, do you have a small panel light in parallel with the resistor?

Is the yellow/white wire connected back to the battery--the generator will not produce any significant voltage if it does not know what the battery voltage is...

I used a 470ohm resistor. I connected the 470ohm to the pink/black wire and the green/red wire on the two dash cluster harnesses. Not sure about the the yellow/white wire. I know it comes off of the alt but I have to check where it goes

I believe you need the lamp, it likely has a lower resistance when cold than the resistor and allows an initial current flow. I have never figured out the exact dynamics of it however I know it "kickstarts" the regulator...

Same as OEM, in parallel with the resistor same as in the stock wiring...
