1998 4.6 manual only starts in neutral it may be the neutral saftey switch anyone know how to bypass the switch by jumping the wires or how much would it cost to replace

Seems ifinitely easier to just start the thing in neutral....

As far as I know there is no "Neutral Satey Switch" on the 98. I've dropped my trans multiple times and never seen one, haha. All there is is a clutch pedal switch, which can be bypassed with a plain old 2 post switch from your local auto parts store.......however if that were your problem you would not be able to start the car.

no neutral safety switch on manual transmissions. clutch pedal must be depressed, gear makes no difference.
