Default Exaust replacement

I'm ready to start replacing my exhaust system on my 02 gt but can't afford to do it all at once. Where,s the best place to start- at the front, with headers or from the back, with a catback. Also, I've heard that long tubes won't work with an auto tranny without mods, is this true? Thanks for any help.

I agree, cat back first. When you do your midpipe, make sure you know exactly what headers your gonna get (long tubes or shortys) If you decide to do longtubes say 1 week after your midpipe, your new midpipe wont fit on those longtubes.

cat back is they way too go in your case. then you can get a midpipe according to your catback, and choose what kind of headers shorties, mid lenght or longtubes. make shure they will all fit together.

^^^what he said. There are a few companies that make longtubes for autos. Hooker makes them I believe and so does MAC (I think). I wanted the BBK longtubes, but they don't fit around the bellhousing on an auto....
