Default Aftermarket tach

I just got an Aftermarket tach and the PEP tach adapt for my 01 GT. I have the adapter installed but i wasn't sure where to get a +12v lead from.

A friend said just jam it into a spot on the fuse box but I wasn't sure about that (yeah, i was gonna make sure to get the right side with an multimeter). Anyone know of a better place to get power from?

thanks

if you take off the bottom of your steering colum (if thats how you spell it). you will see a bunch of different color wires. if you tap into thewire gray with a yellow strip. you will be in good shape. that wire only goes hot when the ingition is on.I'm positive about that, but you always want to testjust to be 100%.

I usually just tap into the cig lighter. that only goes on when the igniton is on. Or you can just splice into any 12v source and if it stays on with the car off you can always put in a switch!
