Default what the F!!!!!!!!!!!!

starting problem 98 mustang gt

shifter was being a buttface fixed it started the car when though all gears shut it off called it a day went back stangie said chug chug then sounded like a tommy gun went off

i took battery to autozone passed but needs to be charged

i took alt to autozone passed

cant get starter off without dropping h pipe so i took soleniod off got one off a thunderbird

put it on clicked idk what to do im stumped one of gray haired ford dealership buddies said wack the starter harder then i did and try to turn the engine with a wrench anyone else want to take a wack at it

If its turning over and clicking I really think that's battery. whats the date on tyour battery? If its more than 5 years buy a new one and see if that does the trick. Or jump the car, when a bettery goes fully dead it's never the same again after that.

That could be the beginning of you flywheel going out. It only happens every once in a while cause it happens when you car happens to be turned off where the teeth of the flywheel are grounded off.

And your starter tries to catch the teeth and there is none at that spot. Cause a loud grinding sound when trying to start the car. I would check to see if the flywheel is in good condition and not missing any teeth.

no the flywheels fine the clicks were the starter trying to turn the engine over went got a thunderbird soleniod put it in charged my battery a little and cleaned off both of my wires to the battery and it started right up
