is fram really that bad? What makes Fram Ultra Oil filter suck compared to Nappa Gold or other filters?

I haven't cut one open in years, however when I last did (9 years ago) here is what I found.

FWIW--You can buy a Motorcraft FL820S in Walmart for less than $4...

Fram is mostly garbage. Multiple places have tested their filters and have found they don't filter because of the cheap materials inside but I believe the ones they test are usually the extraguard ones.

The stock filter is so cheap there is no reason to go with anything else unless you have a different setup.
