Internal Integrity? (build question)
Moving along on my '01 Romeo Build, I picked the motor up from the metal stripping shop and is now at the machine shop. Upon arrival, the machinist and I found cylinder 8 had some pitting on the walls so ultimately I have to bore the motor out. We are going to see what happens when we go .020 over and if need be .030 over after that I don't want to play with fate with how thin the cylinder walls are.
My question among all of the above stated is that the stock crank that came in this '01 block I purchased what is the horsepower that I will be looking at pushing its limits. Im not doing a whole lot. I was figuring forged pistons and forged rods, I have stage 2 cams already on the head, that were ported out months ago. Would I be able to use my stock crank, or am I going to have to look at a forged crank as well? I'm not force inducting, simple bolt ons, already have a full exhaust and after all is assembled it will be professionally tuned. Any input would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.
