Steering System Info on a 2000 GT
Anybody know a good source of info for the steering system in our GT's? A good book would be preferred (aside from the obvious factory manual or haynes or chilton), but a good link would certainly be appreciated as well.
I've got about an inch to an inch and a half of steering wheel slack. While driving it's only really noticeable when I'm driving straight because I have to "bounce" the steering wheel from side to side to keep the car from drifting into either lane beside me. When the car is off, you can move the wheel with minimal pressure no matter which way the wheels are turned, but only for about that inch to inch and a half. If I had a guess, I'd say the problem is where the steering shaft connects to the rack, but that's really just a general guess.
Thanks for the help.
