Default new mustang- new to forums help!!!!

just got an 02 gt convertable off road x pypes cold air intake I think it has a banks tune but it came with no tuner.....

had it for a day motor started tapping hard and winding check engine light came on....i pulled over put oil in it 2'qt's ....motor stoped knocking after going 30 mph for 5 minutes'.. so ford put in an o2 sensor (250) started running back great....check engine light is off now

how.do I remove a tune with no tuner

any tips

ps. does anybody know why motor would sound like its winding?

try the tech section.take it to a tuner.or get a handheld tuner.

not too sure about the "winding" noise...bearing maybe??...regarding the tune, you will need a tuner to remove the tune or change it....even if you take it to a performance shop..

took it to a motor guy I know he checked a vaccum line and it was leaking so he replaced it car seems to be running great he told me tuner was making my car run lean so im going to try and get some new plugs in tonight...thanks for the advice keep it coming......

Did you buy from a private sale or dealer? If bought from a dealer I would see if you can contact the previous owner to see if you can get the tuner for the car. The tuner would not be worth much to someone else, as it is locked to your car. I tracked down the previous owner of my car and was able to purchase the tuner off him.

it was purchased from a dealer but he told me he bought it at an auction it would b tricky to contact....also the exhaust sounds like its vibrating previous owners put exaust on with brackets or whatever instead of welding...idk but how do I for shure find out what tune I have??

The newer mustangs are all on the bracket system, made that way for easy modding. Just some of the aftermarket exhaust fits better than others. As for the tuners id look at one of these, there are better ones out there but for its price its solid.
