Weird engine vibs between 1k-2k.

My vibs on take off are good. Maybe even better with the poly mounts. I love them. Its just the vibs I get just under 2k. It gets worse from 1-1,400k and dissappers about 2k. I know the NVH will be different with the poly mounts. But this vib just seem off. Im just afraid it will cause something else to fail like the engine!

A vibration that shouldn’t be there is never a good thing and should be tracked down instead of masked. It is an indication of something wrong. It can also cause motor & tranny mounts to fail prematurely depending on the severity of the vibration. Poly mounts will actually amplify vibration a little because they are (usually) much harder and don’t dampen normal vibration as much as the stock rubber mounts do.
Duncaan, if your mounts are all good and the problem happens with the car standing still & while driving, both when the rpms are in the same range, then there is something going on in your motor or flywheel (its a manual right?). They are the only things rotating when the car isn’t moving.
So supersnake67, in your case, since the vibration didn’t go away but instead just changed RPM range, then your problem wasn’t the mounts. It is something else. Keep looking... Good luck...

Appreciate it , I changed the trans mount then thought engine mounts. Took the drive belt off was still there. Balancer doesn't wobble . Was kinda leaning towards maybe clutch wear/flywheel wear , but i will cross that road when I need a clutch. Could be internal who knows??????

That's what I was thinking petrock, yes its a stock T-45 5speed. the flywheel is an aftermarket fidenza(spelled somethinglike that)steel flywheel. Just replaced the clutch and all bearings. Thats why I was leaning towards the harmonic balancer. thanks for all the help and suggestions!
