Adding a Kenne Bell Supercharger

Adding a Kenne Bell Supercharger
2003 Ford Mustang Gt, Manual.
Okay, I want to add a Kenne Bell supercharger to my GT. I want to run between 9psi to 14psi. It ranges from 160Hp (9 PSI) to 262Hp (14 PSI) with just a supercharer. My engine is stock, and wanted to know what else will I need to modify in the engine so the engine can handle this kind of power. It going to be a street car. maybe once in a while go to the TRACK. I don't think i'll be running any nitrous. Money doesn't really affect me that much. I also want your comments about the setup I want. Thanks

Roy,
According to their info, www.kennebell.net, to run over 9psi you need to up your octane with octane boost.
They tell you on their site how much octane booster you need to run. You are most likely better off using 100 octane when you go much past 10 - 11 psi. I think i remember that you have to use 100 octane for the 14 psi pulley.
Kb thinks the stock motor will hold up to 450 rwhp. You should be able to run stock internals, for a short time, on a 14 psi pulley, or you might blow your motor on the first pull. You never know.
If you are going to run the 14 psi pulley, they will make you buy their maf, cold air kit, tb and chip. The stock maf will peg at 408 hp, lean out your tune, and grenade your motor. The upgraded 90mm maf will take you to 500 if necessary.
Check out www.modularfords.com and go to kenne bell tech about 3/4 down the page to research the kb 1.7 and talk to more people who have them.

Over 9 PSI you will need forged everything. Your stock internals can handle up to 450hp and 14 PSI will give you alot more then that. If you run 9 PSI you will be totally safe and do not need to forge anything. 9 PSI should get you a tad over 400 RWHP. Thats beyond a stock cobra and definetally running with Z06's. The kit comes with pretty much everything that you need. You will also need an exhaust to help it exhale. LT's, high flow catted or O/R mid pipe, and catback which will run a tad over $1000 by its self. So it's not a cheap thing to do, but the power is amazing!

Yea blue is right. But if you even have an incling of wanting over 9 psi you should just get a forged rotating assembly and get new pistons to lower your compression ratio to about 8.5:1. And get the exaust about a month before the KB so that you can break it in.

if your getting the 1.7l kb it has the almost every thing you need. forge everything like said above. and if your reading kenne bell site remember that all their numbers are rwhp. thats why you need the forged everything even with 9-10 psi.

If you want over 9 PSI then get the 2.2. It's alot better for high boost. The 1.7 can handle 14 PSI, but not very well. Get forged internals, a 2.2, and crank up the boost
