Supercharger huffing oil woes >:( any thoughts gents?
Well, I'm new to the mod section of the forums, but not to the classics section. I haven't been active on the forum since I sold my fastback and was sent to iwakuni via the marine corps. I'm back in the south now and have picked up an 01' GT in the 5-speed flavor, she's got some supercharged snot via a Saleen roots type blower and accompanying intercooler and engine controls from an SCT tune with 6lbs all around, 350rwhp, 3.73:1 gears out back. Suspension is stock. I've got an interesting little problem...it huffs some oil when you really stand on it in a tall gear (4th or 5th). Has anyone come across this before? And what's the damage as far as a fix to the problem goes. Also, I've been thinking and contemplating...I do believe a 4V swap is coming on. Anyone know what's necessary to facilitate this? Special K-member and suspension? Is it drop in easy? Anyone ever tackled it? And as for fuel system upgrades (it'll end up with a 2.8 kenne bell after it gets forged guts, good cams in 4V heads) that can handle the power increase the 4V's are capable of when bigger boost is involved?

A 4V will drop right in with little to no modifications. You will likely want to go with a C headed motor which started in 1999. If you forge the internals, the skys the limit on power. Heck, if you get an 03/04 cobra motor, it will have forged internals stock.

It'll probably get sold as soon as my 4V swap and kenne bell swap is done and tuned. I like roots vs. screw-type supers...I grew up driving a 70' fastback w/ a blown real deal 8V-71 with 4-port Hilborn injection Boss 429 to high school back in the day...I must admit...I miss the simplicity of mechanical fuel injection
