I have a 2000 Saleen with 82000 miles that has recently started to have some idle issues. It started to have an erratic idle after i put on a CAI. It also has a TB spacer,and an O/R H pipe and has a custom tune. I cold start it and it goes up to 2000 rpm for a couple sec then almost stalls then goes back up to 2000 rpm before it settles down at around 900 or so, then a strong smell of fuel is present. Then after a few minutes its idle is lopey like it has a cam? It also gets hung up on 2000 rpm or so at lights for bout 3-4 seconds then idles lopey PLEASE HELP?????????? Everything is on correctly

 

Definitely re check all the connections leading to your intake, throttle body, and intake plenum. I had the same problem when switching to a BBK throttle intake. I forgot to hook a hose up on the back of the plenum, made the same problems you're having.

What kind of h pipe and tune did you get? Are the o2 sensors still installed? Any check engine light on?

 

Its a Pypes h-pipe with the MIL eniminators and a SCT/BAMA tune from American Muscle. This problem was before those parts though.

 

is it possible you have a small vacuum leak?

 

I was thinkin that too..............But i looked everywhere and cant locate one? Is there an easy way to find it that anyone can recommend? Im a novice mechanic so any help would be appreciated.
