i had steeda udp installed today. got in my car and found a sheet of paper with a chart.
im thinking car was dyno tested or something., dont know much about the dyno stuff.
anyway i have a 2004 mustang gt, ive got the pulleys plus mac cai and flowmaster delta
force 2 catbacks.
here's the numbers on the sheet
max power 194.5@4750 rpm
max torque 230.4@3750 rpm
am i reading this wrong i thought a stock 2004 gt had 260 h.p.

260 at the flywheel. Was this a mustang dyno? If so then the numbers aren't too far off. But still a tad low for a modified car.

It depends. On a mustang dyno maybe. On a dynojet, no way.

Those number are way too low a stock mustang shouldn't dyno less that 215 on anything even a mustang dyno. My guess is that it was from a part throttle pull.. or they were testing for something else.. like spark or a/f ratio etc.. and the power numbers just happened to show up as well even though they weren't what was being dynoed.

you lose about 15% through the drivetrain in a stick and about 20% with a auto.

I doubt they would dyno your car and not charge you for it. It is probably just someone elses dyno that they took in the car with em to move it around the shop, and then forgot to grab it when they got out.

You guys are also forgetting that simple things such as how the car is placed on the rollers can affect the numbers on a dyno. Latley I have seen threads on here where people have had their cars on dynos and they were run in third gear and other such dumb mistakes. Personally I am at the point where unless I know the dyno and the guy running it or it is a super reputable shop I just don't put much stock in the numbers.

you alson have a mustang dyno and a dyno jet. a mustang dyno gives you lower (more true to life) numbers. don't put too much stock in to a dyno in my oppinion they are great for tuning. there are some many things that can change those numbers you can take a car put it on a dyno run it let it cool down to the same starting temp and the numbers will be different.
