Shorty headers?
You guys need to suck it up and buy LONGTUBES they are not hard to put in. Did it TWICE. Just get a friend w/ you who knows how to work on cars a lil bit. Trust me you will be happier. They are not hard, just time consuming. You could easily do it in 4 hours.
ya. i have about 50k on my car and the previous owner had to teach his son how to drive the car.... then i had to learn how to drive the car... then i taught some of my friends to drive my car so.. prob 60k im gonna replace clutch and get long tubes for now stock headers is where its at. Like that someone else said "don't let convenience affect your decision for power." I too was really considering shorty headers just cuz but they really dont help ALL that much.
Ceramic is good, but jet hot is best. Ask the folks who have cooked A/C hoses.
This is the cheapest I've found anywhere for new FRPP shorties with jet hot. Partshopper.com has them for a little more.

My friend says that the equal lengths are a bigger f**ker to install than the FRPPs if you go with shorties.
Hope this helps.

I see alot of posting for "convenience vs. power."
Does anyone know the difference, in power, between good aftermarket shorties and good aftermarket longtubes?
If it isn't much of a difference I will definately go with convenience.

I'm not sure what the difference is. Manufacturers tend to overstate power gains. My buddy has been driving Mustangs for the last 19 years and told me the difference isn't enough for the hassles that come with LTs. To change a clutch, you have to loosen/remove one or both to clear the housing. If you're paying someone, it'll cost more. IF you do it, it's a royal pita.
If you absolutely have to have every possible pony, go with LTs.

Yes they can be installed without removeing the mid pipe. They are just like the stock manifold but a lot better.
