Default Convertible strut problem

Has anyone ever had a problem with the fluid leaking out of their struts that power the top? I have had one side that gives me fits. I ordered the replacement line thru cjpony and I feel the threads in the strut got crossed. I cannot get a tight seal to stop the leaking. I've ordered another set of lines hoping that it might work. Thinking of going to Lowes and getting a cheap fitting to try and screw into the strut to see if it's for sure the line or if the threads need retapped in the strut. Anyone ever have this problem?

When I replaced mine, I was extremely aware of how easy the rams could be cross threaded. The supplier I used was very specific that if the threads in the ram were cross threaded, it would void the warranty. I do not know if the rams can be tapped. You might have to buy a new one. When I replaced mine, i connected all the fittings to the rams and then installed them. Not as easy as it sounds. Good luck

Well I tried tapping but was unsuccessful. Going to have to buy a new one. Cheapest I've seen is 100.00. Anyone know of any cheaper on a website? No salvage yards around here has one.
