That could be part of the change, if the new converter is locking up at higher revs, or is slipping more than the other when not locked up. Have you discussed the issue with the fellow that rebuilt the transmission?

As per your suggestion Cliffy, I tried disconnecting the battery for several minutes but halfway through this tank of gas it doesn't look like it made any difference which is disappointing because I love those kinds of fixes.

I spoke with the transmission mechanic to verify that it was rebuilt to OEM specs to include the torque converter. I have no reason to doubt him as he is a solid wrench and I trust him.

He suggested I take it to my buddy who actually did the swap and let him hook it up and check the numbers to see what is actually going which my buddy suggested even before I called the trans. man.

Now I'm just trying to whittle out some time to make that happen.
