Default Strut cahnge tool?

I'm swapping out the struts on my '02 GT. I need a strut compression tool to remove the upper assembly on the strut. Does anyone know where I can get a compression tool to do the job? I have checked the local auto stores, without any luck. I have found several different versions of spring compression tools, but I don't think it will work on this type strut. Any ideas?

Thanks, Tap

To remove the nut from the end of the old strut. The plate which attaches to the strut towers has to be removed from the old struts and installed on the new struts.

1) Put WD-40 for penetrating oil on thread to loosen nut (hopefully).

2) Put a LARGE flat tip screw driver in the slot on top of the strut.

3) Put a wrench on the nut.

4) Twist like hell to loosen and remove. Cursing helps here and is strongly encouraged.

5) Have a beer (if 21 years of age)

6) Repeat on other side

well after i got to thinking about it if he has a 05 or 06 he is gonna need a compression tool.
in that case i would take it to the parts store and pay them the 10 bucks they charge to change the springs over. they will have a real strut compressor those cheapies can kill ya.
