intake manifold
hello all, well before reading i took my 99 gt out for a wash and washed the motor. as you know she popped a misfire on cyl 8 code. I went to the store and decided to buy her new plugs. i started taking the COP's off, i got all off but # 2 the bolt for it just spins and spins. any ideas on how to get her out? also when re-assembling it the # 6 COP bolt would not tighten, i noticed the owner before me put loctite in it so he mustve tightned it to much and broke the plastic in the manifold, for now its held in under the fuel rail, so all spark plugs are new but #2. she runs fine no codes but i dont like knowing that it sits like that, what do you think about the situation, should i buy a new OEM manifold, upgrade to a better one? or force #2 out and just loctite them both? sorry for the long story but i like putting every detail in.

Some jackwagon probably broke the little metal insert off of the plastic manifold. Just put a good pair of plyers on the bolt and work it out carefully. To put it back together get some two part liquid epoxy that bonds to metal and plastic.
When you put it back together, coat the plastic inserts that spin free in the epoxy. Press them into the manifold, and give it a few hours to set up. Should be good as new. I've never done it to a 4.6 but it worked great on my girlfriends dodge. Plus that 8 dollar bottle of epoxy was way cheaper than a new manifold.
