Default Replacing steering column question. Help

I have a 2001 Mustang Gt Convertible that the clock spring is out on. The junkyard sold me a whole steering column. Can I just replace my old steering column with the new one and change out ignitions and everything be ok? Will that mess with the PAT system?

You do not need to "change out" the ignition switch assembly. The PATS transceiver antenna in the ignition switch is the same for all cars, it is just the instrument cluster and PCM that are married...

That said, why don't you just swap the clocksprings? Much easier than swapping out the entire steering column...

Because my steering column and steering wheel are in bad shape and this column and steering wheel still looks brand new. Should just have to unbolt the steering shaft and remove the 4 bolts where it attaches to the dash. So let me get this straight...... I can use the ignition and the key I got with the used column and not have to replace with my original?

Yes. Swapping the key cylinder is easy so that your keys match is easy...
