so i have my 96 gt on the lift and doing rear axel bearings the only problem is the axels wont push in far enough to get the retaining clips off ,i've done many rear axel jobs and have never ran into one like this
is there some special way to get theses clips off or could there be a reason as to way the axels wont push in far enough

 

I just took mine off tonight. I had to take the brake drums off, then push axles in to get the c- clips out
