what can i do to lower the weight of my car. i already have took out to spare tire and back seat. i don't want to remove the electric windows but i wanna get down close to 3000 lbs if i can. should i get some lighter seats? maybe some corbeaus. whats the thing ppl are doing to lighten there car dramatically? i don't wanna drive around with it gutted but if i can figure something out to still make it look good i will. so post away

Getting to 3000 pounds is pretty hard. You are probably looking at taking out at least the A/C, the airbags, and getting some lightwieght racing seats, and doing the K member. And I still don't know if your gonna be looking at 3K. And it would suck not having the A/C and the airbags. (dunno if it will even pass inspection.

inspection won't be a problem

yeah i'll check into those things. my a/c doesn't even work and my air bags don't seem to go off anyways thanks.

It depends on whether you are dedicating the car to strip use only or not. If so, then there is a lot you can do. If you looking to reduce weight, but still drive it, then an aluminum block would help. Expensive, but light. Tubular control arms with the K member and coil-overs, and an aluminum radiator.

You're limited for the daily driver, but for the track, you can quickly shed weight and $ at a disproportionate rate.
