Default programmer in SOCAL?

Hey guys,

I hate to go out and buy a programmer especially if i'm only going to use it once or twice, so i'im checking to see if someone in the SOCAL area has a tuner, that i could meet up with and plug in and tune my GT? I'm willing to pay you for your time.

Thanks.

Mmmm, doesn't really work like that.

When one uses a handheld device to upload a tune to their vehicle, the device downloads and saves that vehicle's stock tune file and becomes "married" to that particular vehicle. Which then makes the device unuseable on another car until such time as it uploads the stock tune file back to the original vehicle.

So for someone to do that for you would mean that they would then be stuck with a $400 paperweight. That, and depending on things such as what you have to go through here for bi-annual emissions testing you may need to reflash back to stock occasionally.

Suck it up bro, go buy a tuner like the rest of us had to do.

yes, thats what you have to do, before I learned about tuners I asked the same question, now I believe I heard that it can be done, but its like a max of 6 times on someone elses tuner, Hell, fork out the cash man, then it's YOUR PERSONAL TUNER

It really depends what you have done to the car.
