well an interceptor motor would be from a police car, now is it a DOHC or SOHC? That is the question..... It will be a close race... just do it for kicks and giggles and let us know the results

my dad's 89 lx 5spd walked my 98gt by a car length.we both had exhaust,and cai. i even got a jump on him vs.i had 3.27's to his 2.73's..that's why i went 5.0

i would put my money on the 5.0 a 99 is fairly evenly matched with a 5.0 but the npi motors are a little lacking. even though you have more hp he has less wieght.

The interceptor motor and the mustang 4.6L are pretty close in performance. I would honestly put my money on the 5.0 because they are lighter then the newer body mustangs for improved acceleration.

Agreed, tim what are you thinking... they arent even in the ball park.
First time i went to the track i went with my friend with a 92 5.0. He ran 15.1 my best was a 14.4.

i have seen more than one 5.0 more or less stock running right with 4.6's
remember if ya know what you are doing you can tweek and tune a 5.0 and get quiet a bit more out of them with out spending a dime or changing too much.

MAYBE a extemely factory freak LX notch 5spd, but even then, if you are talking dead stock, they have no chance.
BTW, a 96 5spd is gonna get put away by a 89 5.0 auto if both cars are in good running condition.

my 88gt with timing and exhaust(headers/back) worked a 2001gt auto 4x's. so is a speed density in a different leage than mass air to a point?
