Hey guys, so I just got a 2003 Mustang GT and everything has been good other than a couple of small things. However the other day I was heading home from work and I had the service engine light come on. Had the code read and it was the P0340 (camshaft position sensor) code. Car seemed fine all the way back home. The next day I went to start my car and the car cranked over but when I let off the key the car died. If I blip the throttle on start up it will start fine and drive fine. I have read that it could be the alternator is causing it. I just wanted to see what everyone here thought before I went out and got a new one.

 

I think you answered your own question. Replace that sensor first and see if that was the issue. While youre at the part store, get them to chek the alternator just in case.
