Default clutch peddle jumping

my clutch peddle when in gear between 1k-2.5krpm has a bit of a.... jump to it. it has always had it just never noticed how bad till putting a new metal clutch quadrant in. it's not there during acceleration but when I let off gas it is bad. is that just normal 15 year old transmission play? I have clutch adjuster and that makes no difference in it no matter how lose or tight I make it still has it.

Not sure what you mean by "jump". Did you replace the clutch cable when you swapped the quadrant?

no I didn't, the clutch with the car in gear driving is bouncing the pedal around, the quadrant taps against the metal bracket that the clutch quadrant rests on . this is a new clutch but the old one did the same thing.

just to update this after driving around for 2 weeks with the clutch kit and this *jumping* in the clutch I had for years is gone I'm guessing it had to do with the OEM quadrant and the spring assembly it rested on moving while driving clutch was just use to it.

If there is vibration in the pedal, you most likely have an issue with the throwout bearing. If you the TOB, you may as well do a pilot bearing, clutch fork, pivot ball and clutch cable depending on the mileage of the car or the last time those components were serviced.

One of our employees just purchased a 2002 GT and is having a similar issue. Replacement parts are on order, we will follow up once the repair has been completed.
