What ever tranny you go with, get a light weight spec stage 2 clutch, pressure plate and flywheel (10.5" not 11").
It'll cut out some serious rotating mass, it'll be better balanced, and it'll clamp down much better than stock. That'll translate to more RWHP and faster revving.
Combined with underdrives and an aluminum driveshaft, it'll put much more power to the ground.

Another driveshaft to look at is this one: http://www.pstds.com/critical-link.cfm but it's definitly more expensive than an aluminum one.

An electric water pump wouldn't hurt either. You could also switch to a manual steering rack if you really wanted to make things more efficient.

If you are seriously looking into engine work there is more than just head-work out there. Raising the compression, boring out\sleeving and getting a stroker kit are all great ways to get more power out of the 4.6. I'm assuming that you've got all of the basic boltons and exhaust already. Some electronically switched cutouts before the cats might be another thing to consider (only use the cats and mufflers when you need um.

ORIGINAL: krukster

i want to get as close to 400rwhp. id love to do it natrually, but there isnt much more i can do bro. right now im at just over 300 at the wheels. all else i can do would be to port and polish the heads, but its so damn expensive for the setup i would want to run. patriot and fox lake alone are around $1200 for the stage 2 215cfm intake and 195cfm exaust assembled w/bigger valves and springs. but i am having trouble finding a shop that will do the job for less than $900! plus another tune after that. but im not for sure yet...that may be the route i go still..please guys throw some ideas out to me! i can still go underdrive pullys and alluminum driveshaft. i also have plans for the tko 500 pretty soon. ill post some pics for you guys..she is a beauty. i got the an 03 cobra kist all the way around, along with 18" boyd cottingtons. dropped with eibach. and brand new bfg kdw nt..295 on the back keep opinions coming please
What mods do you have that are putting you at 300+ at the wheels?
