Default tires, help!

i am looking for a good set of tires that are comfortable on the road for everyday driving, but are sticky enough to lock up at the track. are there any suggestions about what tires are a good buy. i want a tire that is a summer tire and has a sticky compound. i have an 02 gt, want to put 18's under it, but first i need traction cause all i do now is spin the tires off the line.

nitto and kumho(not the cheap kumho's) both make tires that will fit your needs.

If you want a good street tire with potential for grip at the track, BFG KDW's. No debating this.

I have been thinking about getting some Pirelli Z-Nero Zero M+S. Here is a comparison between them and the BF’s mentioned above. It is from tirerack.com

i have these tires:

KUMHO Ecsta Supra 712

they hook a lot better than stock, nowhere near a DR though. decent treadwear too.

I do like the fact that they are cheaper but the treadwear doesn't look as good.

they make other tires besideds drag radials. it has been nearly 3 years since i sold tires so i don't remember the model tires that where the best. Kumho had the 711 that is there "lower end tire" i ran a lot of them they do alright but not nearly as good as some of there others.
