Default Battery max drain specification, What does Ford say?

I posted this in the V6 forum, but it applies to V8s too.

2000 V6 base coupe.

Does anybody know what the max specified battery drain is while the car is at rest?

Meaning, engine off, no lights, key out, doors shut.

I'm chasing down a battery drain, and want to know what the maximum spec is.

thanks in advance

The 1995 manual calls for no more than 50 mA (0.05 A). I doubt the 2000 model would be much different.

This info is consistent with accepted practice. EEC-IV before airbags and ABS needed Keep-Alive current of 5 to 10 milliamperes (0.005 to 0.010 amps).

As time has gone by, "parasitic drain" has increased. Now there's 11 frigging airbags!

1990 versions would drain a battery down in a month or so. Today? Arguable.

The battery makers love this! imp
