Default What might this leak be?

98 gt mustang has been sitting a couple months. Bought a new battery today and noticed this huge puddle.

Welcome!

Kinda looks like oil, from here. You need to get a better look at it though. Check your fluid levels and try to locate the source of the leak. That chassis looks pretty clean underneath, so it shouldn't be too hard to find.

Looks like drips coming from bottom where tyranny meets motor. Possible it leaked due to not being driven?
has the smell of tyranny fluid.

Could be. Get some on a clean piece of paper to confirm color.

If this is an automatic, then there should be a drain plug on the torque converter that you can check for leakage. Otherwise, any leaks in the bell-housing area will require pulling the transmission out of the car to fix.

Input shaft or pump seal on your tranny is my guess given by where you stated it's leaking from. Other wise Rear main seal. Color will confirm which one it could possibly be.
