Sputtering
New to this forum,so hopefully i get it right.i have a 96 mustang gt with 119,000 miles, the car ran great.today i changed the oil and filter, and changed the original spark plugs, now it sputters real bad,any advise please.
How did you replace the plugs? One at a time or did you remove all the wires first? Maybe a wire is crossed.
Also, how old are the wires? It's possible when you took the wire off the plug, one or more connections was broken/loosened. Or, the wire is not fully seated on one or more plugs. With good wires you should be able to hear an audible metallic 'click' as the connector in the wire makes a solid connection to the plug. If one or more of your wires didn't make that sound, pull each one off the plug, inspect the wire and connector and try again. You might need to take some pliers and gently squeeze the wire connector down a bit to get a better connection.
