RE: Rear Cats
just cut right before and after them, they will fall right out. but when you get the car inspected your kinda S.O.L. because you cut the cats out.(unless you know somebody, or a chill certified gas station.) can you get your hands on a off road mid pipe for thoes cars??

RE: Rear Cats
In my opinion..just save up and do it rite. For around(not so sure about vics) $350 you can buy an x-pipe with two high flow cats. Then you can hook up your existing O2 sensors and be done with it the rite way. Offroad x pipes in my opinion sound like ace at higher rpms and I would never have them. They will also lose some torque due to zero back pressure. If you really want to do this though get an electric power drill and attach a long rod into it with a slightly bent end about an inch or two from the end. This will hollow out the inside of the cat. Then just hit it with a real hammer and the pieces will fall out. Do this till you get all of the cat out.-Shane

RE: Rear Cats
With the new inspections here in New York, they just do a visual and a OBD II scan so with my XCalibrator to shut off the CEL, I should be fine. To have an Off Road Pipe made for my car I have been quoted around $450 from a couple of places and thats just for the Cat pipes from the manifold to the H Pipe. I figured gutting the cats is a much cheaper and effective option.
