OK I am looking and I see the only one with a motor swap is teh First PLace (he put a 281ci from an explorer in his)

other then that-

they all have....
Suspension (some dont even have really "upgraded suspension"
Gears
basic bolt ons (exhaust, cai etc etc)
Cams.

How are they running LOW LOW 12's???

ONE KID (4th place) has all STOCK INTAKE even!

I just saw a thread on here in the STRIP/STREET section
a kid asked what he would run approx. and he showed his list of mods he was going to do...
ALL THE BOLTS ONS and HEADERS ETC ETC PLUS A SUPERCHARGER... who said he would have around 400 RWHP
and the replies were "low-mid 12s"

so I am just wondering how those guys in the mag are running low 12's every run with no SC or TC or NOS etc.
basic bolt ons and cams, when you look at it. (one has ported heads i believe)

so please help me out here, its not adding up to me.
one kid says hell have 400RWHP and plans on running mid 12's
when a kid in the mag only has 289RWHP and IS RUNNING low 12's

Suspension, gears, and tires make a HUGE differance.

I dont know, but if you look at the first car, the silver 01 gt it says his weight with driver is 3066 lbs. Looking at the guy id say he at least weighed 180. He's shaved some major weight off his car. With me in mine it's close to 3800 lbs. I still don't see 12.0s coming from it though...Must be realllly goooddd drivers.

the top guys in the nmra factory stock class run high 11's

Weight reduction is the biggest factor in low times. For every 100lbs=a tenth off your time.

they all have good enough suspension to be launching at 6 grand. I have that article and it says they were all launching at 6 grand and they have a few power mods like full exhaust,cams,intakes,gears and slicks. Not only that they were very light cars. Decent power numbers with a light car and awesome 60' times = good 1/4 times.

To some extent Daniel, but alot of the guys running quick 2V's are doing it with pretty minimal suspension mods. Now, dropping 600lbs from the car makes a hell of a difference.
