What should i do?
I bought my car from a dealer on thursday and i dont know all of the mods done to the car, i know it has an intake and flowmaster cat-backs, any ideas where to take it to find out everything done to it? Please, any suggestions will help!!!
Find someone thats Mustang smart and all they have to do is take a quick 5 minute walk around and look under the hood to tell you what you have done. They may drive it to see if you have gears... but if you get on the highway and get it to 70 mph in fifth gear and you are at 1900 rpms... then you have 3.27's.
Aftermarket catbacks will have no ripples or rough corners on the piping around your rear-end.
Also, 99-04's come with a 2 1/4" h-pipe with 4 catalytic converters, 2 bolted to the manifolds and 2 closer to your butt.
A quick way to check for gears, but not fool proof would be to pull off your shifter console & boot. Simply unscrew the shift ****, carefully grab a corner of the plastic surrounding your shifter and slowly pull it off, once it's off look for a wire running through the black cover, look up into the dash for a little black box that will say Dallas Speedcal or Abbott. This will give you a good idea if you have gears & the previous owner used the speedcals instead, you can open up the speedcal and record the DIP settings and let us know.
I'm familiar with the Abbott DIP settings, I'm sure you can pull the DIP settings off Dallas's website for their speedcal.
