Angry Replacing transmission wiring harness?

Does anyone have tips for repairing or replacing the wiring harness around the transmission that connects the oxygen sensors? Unfortunately a rodent chewed through some of the wires connecting to an oxygen sensor. I'm hoping I don't have to drop the transmission to get the harness out and replace it with a new one.

I'm considering trying to just disconnect the harness from the engine. Then maybe it will hang down enough to let me repair the broken wires with a crimping tool.

Picture of a similar harness off a different car (not mine)
