Hello! I was just checking out the Roush...
and I came across this STAGE 3 Roush

So I was just wondering what is up with them?
they are fast? I assume?... very rare obviously?

and of course what do you think of one of them vs a "production line" 03/04 Cobra?

Lol yes they are fast and very rare. They are supercharged and I believe come with around 380 hp give or take 10 or so. Very sweet cars, but far too expensive for my broke college ***.

so I thought I would get a convo started.

Yeah so far from what Im reading- I see the stage 2 is supercharged with a "Roush" (says on the SC itself, maybe a eaton?)
and looks like the stage 3 is a Vortech SC.
not sure 100% on that.

But yes nice.

 

Umm I'm not so sure on the stage 2 being supercharged...could be wrong. I think the stage 1 is actually a v6 with just some exterior mods and then a stage 2 is a gt with appearance package and side exit exhausts. But then again I'm not real familiar with them. Theres also a 380R which is nice too.

 

Only the stage 3 was S/C. The stage 2 offered handling, braking, and appearance upgrades along with the stage 1 bits. The stage 2 was just a really well handling GT. The stage 3 could corner like the Cobra (w/IRS), and brake well, but got edged out by the power.

My buddy used to beat the local stage 2 guy with his '98 Cobra almost weekly (w/o using his nitrous). No stage 3s in the area, but he could have taken those too with the juice. Something about 380hp vs. 500hp.

 

The Roush is very nice and attention to detail is awesome. Their braking and handling will most likely hand a Cobra it's A$$, but it would be close. As far as power, there is no comparison. Roush=2V and Cobra=4V...nuff said.

Thats not a supercharged car from roush. It has a paxton and roush uses a roots style blower on their cars.

 

Does Roush ever take Cobras and make them better? Or does Saleen?
