after about 800 miles on an oil change i have to add maybe a half quart of oil. ive seen products, that you can add to your oil to seal up your head gasket, does this work ??.. (i know i need new head gaskets but i am in college expenses are tight, just thought this could be a temp solution ...or could possibly prevent a worse leak from coming down the road.

just get new head gaskets, those products DO NOT work. You may end up worsening the problem, or even causing more expenses in engine damage.
