100th....you don't know the difference then.
An LSD is a LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL. It will attempt to turn each wheel at the same speed untill a certain speed difference is detected, and then it is an open diff. Let's say that you mash the throttle going through turn #4 at Mid-Ohio and your inside tire starts spinning faster than the outside. All the power is then quickly transfered to the inside tire, causing a massive loss in traction.
A LOCKER mechanically links the two axles together in such a way that they can not spin independently of each other when active, but when de-activaed become an open locker for the street. Mad straightline traction.
Even better is a Quaiffe (torque sensing) diff, which puts the power to whichever wheel offers the most resistance (which means it has the most traction) seemlessly and instantly. They make an application for the "Ford Mustang (live axle)" and the Ford 8.8

Sounds lke overkill Jeep. Unless your into hardcore street racing the LSD is fine till it blows up, which all depends on how hard yo are on the car. I don't think Dilostang is going to get into it that hardcore.

haha...considering it is a street car, like i said, i cant imagine he will have to worry about taking a turn at mid ohio any time soon... but for some reason if the dude wants to take a mustang auto cross racing, maybe he should just consider getting a diff car.

I wouldn't use a locker on a street car..there noisey and some time can cause as wreck..a air locker is nice..what I would do is rebuild the unit with new clutchs..put one or 2 of the best from the old pack back in with the new ones this will tighten it up rather nicely

vfast, read up on the ox. Picture an air locker that has a cable to do the work instead of aircompressors and s**t and you got the right idea
Not noisy at all.....heheheh......Now a detroit locker, those automatic locking/delocking hunks...different story.

It's not going to do a bit of good hitting the tires that hard unless he's running slicks. Like I said, it's overkill on the street. You can tell your a 4x4er I know you guys love those things. A freind had one and they are cool, but definatly not for street car.

I agree, you should look into a Auburn locker. I got it in my car. It works great, As long as you don't mine a little nosie turning a hard corner. Cause you can hear it disengaging. But the little bit of niose, is well worth it.Cause yourtires will be glued to the road.

The thing about the OX and ARB's is that they are completely silent on the street. And honestly, ifyou're going to be hitting street tires hard, you may as well hit them both hard, leave even and hard/fast.
You do NOT need slicks to get the benefits of it.
