Redoing TPS connector

RE: Redoing TPS connector
I've done some work with the TPS on mine. What are you trying to do, exactly? My car is in the shop so I can't tell you exactly how they line up, and I can't find the wiring order in the Haynes manual.
Are you trying to re-install or what? Honestly, for the TPS, if you are trying to install one, my advice is let Ford or another shop do it. It's a $40+ part and it is EXTREMELY easy to break it when you install it if you don't know what you are doing...or are like me, and THINK you know what you are doing, but....yeah.

RE: Redoing TPS connector
I will look this up for you on my 04 GT when I get home.
The top one has the different base color, I remember that much... when you open the throttle the voltage increases.
The middle has the same base color as the bottom one (I'll take a random guess and say it's stripe color is red... I'll confirm with pictures for you when I get home, in class right now). When you open the throttle the voltage decreases.
I don't want to pierce all my lines to just find voltage ranges for you on all of them, but I can pull voltages on the middle wire for you because I already have it cut for my Zex wet kit.
Edit: I'm curious, does the car run without your TPS hooked up? And does it throw a check engine code? I was wondering this while I was screwing with mine.

RE: Redoing TPS connector
Well the wires were arking before so the check engine light is on because it is not getting a reading from the tps sensor. I went out and bought a new tps connector cause someone messed up the actual connector. The new connector wires are all white. This is why I am asking for the color scheme so that I can get rid of the light. The car does run fine but I beleive it is running rich. I cant really tell though. I called the dealer and they said my car should not run at all only idle so I dont know what they are talking bout. Will I need to make the holes bigger on the tps sensor to get the right voltage reading?
